Department of Computer Science Scholarship Program
The Department of Computer Science makes scholarships available to students each year. These scholarships are sponsored by individuals and companies who are committed to rewarding students majoring in Computer Science who have demonstrated a high degree of motivation and scholastic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded from the following funds:
Odegard Scholarship: Allocations from this endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to computer majors with junior or senior status who maintain a 3.5 grade point average or greater, and demonstrate service and leadership to the Computer Science Department.
Rockwell Collins Scholarship: Allocations from this endowment shall be used to provide a scholarship for one high achieving and qualified student majoring in Computer Science at the JDOSAS. Recipients shall maintain a 3.0 GPA or better and be a sophomore or junior in academic standing. Preference shall be given to women and minority students who meet these criteria. The student should be available to accept, if offered, at minimum, one Rockwell Collins co-op or internship prior to completion of degree. The student should also serve as an ambassador for Rockwell Collins and participate in organized Rockwell Collins activities as appropriate.
Microsoft Scholarships: All Computer Science majors are invited to apply for these scholarships. Selection will be based on a number of criteria including: strength of commitment to the CS major, enrollment information, academic performance, quality of the application, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Qualifications required: Each applicant must be a UND undergraduate or graduate student who has formally declared a computer science major, and who has completed or is enrolled in CSci 161 Computer Science II.
Joel Lovelein Scholarship: This endowment shall be used to provide one or more academic scholarships to qualified undergraduate students within the Computer Science Department at the University of North Dakota.
Who is eligible?
All full-time students at the University of North Dakota who meet the above criteria are eligible. Scholarship recipients receiving financial aid or other University scholarships need to be aware that their scholarship award may be applied towards the repayment of their student loans (if any). If you receive a scholarship, these details will be worked out in conjunction with the UND Student Financial Aid Office.
